Summertime is a fun one at Marabou. There is a plethora of fun activities to be had at the ranch. Getting out on an adventurous mountain bike, riding one of the well-trained horses, fly fishing with your toes (and more) in the beautiful Elk River, or hiking the many trails that serpentine around the ranch are all refreshing ways to to see Marabou. All that activity can leave your muscles and bones ready for some relaxation. Here are a few ways we suggest adjusting your attitude at altitude.
One of the best ways to beat the heat and loosen up, is a little water time. Sitting poolside can be a great way to wind down from a busy day in the mountains. Positioned on the banks of the river, enjoy the sounds of rushing water as you spend the day relaxing in the River’s Edge pool. Fun for the entire family, this zero entry, kid friendly pool will make you feel like you are back at the old swimming hole. Soak the soreness away in one of our two hot tubs for some quiet “me time”.
Speaking of “me time”- treat yourself to a spa day. Revitalize, rejuvenate, and relax at the Downstream Spa. Enjoy a heavenly, five star experience amidst the ruggedness of the ranch. Each session can be specifically tailored to you and your needs. Enjoy the serenity of the spa, by booking a facial, or schedule a massage at the spa, or arrange the experience to come to you. After a relaxing in the sauna, we recommend the Ashiatsu massage. If you haven’t tried this Asian rooted technique (where the masseuse “walks” on your back using support bars), you’re missing out. Ashiatsu is a deep tissue massage that create specific strokes that can actually produce a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage. Often the use of feet, is far more comfortable than using elbows and knuckles. Trust us- it’s amazing!
Lastly, escape by renting one of the luxury mountain cabins on the ranch. Orvis meets Ritz-Carlton in the six charming, luxuriously appointed cabins. Nestled along the Elk River, these cabins are ideal for a private fishing expedition or taking the time to isolate, kick back and unwind. Owners’ Cabins have dual master suites, a loft, fireplaces, full kitchen, flat screen TVs, iPod docking station, steam showers, expansive decks, and can comfortably sleep up to eight people (if you want the company). Get away from it all, and have our masseuse or esthetician come to you for the ultimate in private peacefulness.
Adventure is fun, but at Marabou, there is nothing that compares to the tranquility of the open fresh air, rush of the Elk River, and serenity in the scenery. Take a deep breath and enjoy your new high altitude attitude. Enjoy.
