Land Map

This overview map is a great way to get the lay of the land at Marabou. As you can see, every site has it’s own benefits and personality. We warmly welcome you to your luxury ranch community.

lot story

While sitting on the deck of your home on this lot, one can reach an understanding as they look to the vast expanse to the north why Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch chose that area to hide out. Even though they were trying to lay low, the Wild Bunch couldn’t resist the call of Shorty Anderson’s saloon in Steamboat’s Red Light District. It was there his gang debated enlisting to fight in the Spanish-American War or remaining wild. Needless to say drink and the wild life prevailed.

Nowadays, the oakbrush and sage are a favorite sanctuary for the elk herd that calls Marabou home. They too enjoy the view from on high and watch the valley below for the perfect time to come down and graze in the evenings. With only the elk and mule deer for company, this homesite is the perfect mountain retreat.

A Western Country Club…Reimagined

Regardless if a foundation is ever laid, owners can take full advantage of any of the amenities Marabou has to offer. With four weeks available at any of our Guest Cabins, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the surrounding Steamboat Lifestyle.

In addition to the western cowboy heritage you’ll feel connected to at Marabou, some of the best memories can be made in the nearby town of Steamboat Springs. Up until 1912, skiing was only thought of as a mode of transportation. Carl Howelsen came to Steamboat to show that skiing could also be fun. He built the town’s famed Howelsen Hill located in downtown Steamboat. The hill maintains the original 30, 50, 70 and 90 meter jumps and is used an an Olympic training site. It remains the oldest ski area in continuous operation in Colorado.

Howelsen also organized the first Winter Carnival in 1914 as a way of introducing competitive skiing and celebrating winter. Over 100 years later, the event features ski races. ski jumping, skijoring, and the nation’s only high school marching band on skis. It is a must see tradition!
