Rolling hills covered with thick oak brush, sagebrush and native grasses, there are few places more beautiful and plentiful than our hunting access at Marabou. The ranch has Mule Deer and Elk on it year-round, along with Pronghorn Antelope, Waterfowl, Sharp-tailed Grouse and many other species of wildlife. Our Master Guides take a limited amount of hunters each season to offer an exceptional experience.

Get to know the locals

There is a resident elk herd on the ranch in September, and as soon as the nearby Flat Tops start seeing snow, thousands of elk come through on their migration towards lower elevations. It is a good quality Colorado hunt; it is physical, requires good marksmanship and is a great chance to put meat in the freezer.

MASTER GUIDES

Scott Bell

Scott’s passion for the outdoors started with hunting and camping with his dad in the mountains of Montana and Washington State. He has been hunting in and around Steamboat for the past six years and recently started guiding for the Marabou hunting program. Being out with the Marabou owners and guests, hunting and tracking elk, has only amplified his love for the outdoors and he is excited to share that experience with you!

Pat Stefanek

A long-time Steamboat resident Pat has contagious enthusiasm for life. Pat grew up fishing the fabled waters of northern Michigan and has since guided hunting and fishing throughout North America. Pat holds a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University and was a co-founder of the North Park Fishing Club in Walden. Pat is Marabou’s, “River Keeper” and is a licensed Outfitter (#2727) in the state of Colorado. He leads our off-site fishing and hunting program and has procured many off-site fishing destinations. Pat’s excitement and knowledge of fly-fishing guaranties a world-class day on the water.

In addition to our world-class fishing, we wanted to offer Marabou ranch property owners unparalleled big-game hunting access. For the last 4 years we have had exclusive access to a private ranch just 30 minutes away. The ranch, located south of Hayden, is in the heart of the largest migrating elk herd in the world.  Spanning just over 2600 acres, it borders BLM land on one side, nearly doubling the amount of hunt-able acreage.
